One thing that I love to do is peruse the internet looking for new blogs to enjoy.
When I find a post that makes me think or that I truly enjoy I absolutely love leaving a comment. I love it when people comment on my blog, as well.
That’s why I get extremely frustrated when I encounter a blog where comments are disabled.
Well, I just found a blog that I had fun reading. In one of the posts, I had a question and a comment. To my great disappointment, the blogger had disabled comments and I couldn’t make that connection.
You know something? I’ll never waste my time on that website again.
Here is what not having blog comments tells me:
- That the blogger doesn’t want to connect with anyone online.
- The only opinion the blogger cares about is his own.
- The only person the blogger cares about is himself.
- That the blogger will never care what I have to say.
And you know what? This blog was supposed to promote a life coaching business. Not having blog comments enabled makes me not respect this person’s judgement as a coach because at the very least, I would expect that a coach actually cares about people.
I’ve also seen this behavior in a top marketer. If I said his name you’d know it, but I am not going to say it. If you visited his blog and tried to leave a comment, you know EXACTLY who I am talking about. I never returned to that blog and I also never bought any of his books.
Do you want to know why I think keeping blog comments enabled is important? Because it shows you care about the people who read your blog. If the people who read your site don’t look like you care about them, they won’t return.
So, hello. How are you today? Please leave a comment anytime you want. If it isn’t spam, I’ll welcome it. 🙂
