In the past year, I’ve researched “ways to make money fast” more times than I care to admit to. As a woman who is under transition because of a pending divorce, I’ve been strapped for cash here and there while I build my internet business the right way. Unfortunately, the right way can take some time, sometimes over a year, to see any real progress.
The truth is, most of us have random expenses to pay for. A last minute, emergency car repair. Paying the rent after a paying for said emergency car repair. Spending unconsciously and realizing your credit card bill is a lot higher than you expected. These are just some of the reasons.
For my own reference, I compiled a list of strategies I use now and then to earn fast money. I’m sure they’ll help you, as well.
1. Make Money at the Content Sites
Granted, I’m already established at two major content sites, Textbroker and The Content Authority. I am also working on establishing a relationship at iWriter, though I’ve admittedly experienced some setbacks with that. My advice to you is to work on establishing yourself at these sites before you need the cash desperately. Both Text Broker and The Content Authority pay once a week but the process takes much longer if you need to wait until you get going with these sites. This is one of the ways you can earn money fast online for free.
2. Take On Additional Client Work
Do you have a skill you are able to freelance? If so, you should consider looking for clients who will pay you for using that skill for their benefit. You can find work in various ways. This includes bidding at freelance marketplaces like Elance, applying to postings on Craigslist, and pitching potential clients directly through email or by cold-calling. However, if you’re persistent, you can find work to help get you past your financial difficulty.
3. Mystery Shopping
I find that mystery shopping provides me with a good way to make extra income. Before getting started, though, NEVER pay money in advance to get mystery shops. Companies like Bestmark, for example, are well established and DON’T ask for money. Companies who do ask for money may not be legit. Personally, I like using the apps Gigwalk and Field Agent. The shops are much easier to complete. The well-established companies like Bestmark usually require a bunch of paperwork.
4. Become a Promotional Model
You know those people who give you samples while you’re out shopping? This kind of work is usually done by promotional models who were hired through their talent agencies. I chanced upon this part time gig because or my cousin and I didn’t realize how much I’d love it. My favorite are the wine samplings I do. The pay is pretty good, too. The company I work for gives me $22 an hour. This is an easy job to fit into my schedule, too, because most shifts are 3-4 hours long. There are a lot of companies, too. I get enough work from this one company. However, if I wanted to do this full time I could easily do so by working through multiple companies. Once you establish yourself, you can take on work whenever you need it.
5.Write and Publish an eBook
Okay, I haven’t done this yet but it’s on my list of tactics to try. I often wonder how much better my income would be if I managed to write one Kindle book per week. And, the Kindle platform isn’t the only one I can try. It is possible to self publish my own eBooks on my own website. In fact, I am developing my first product right now which includes an ebook, videos, and potentially other forms of content. Stay tuned – I know you’re going to love what I have to offer. 😀

These are some great strategies for folks to try out, Katherine.
It’s usually difficult to start making online right away. There are no legitimate get rich quick plans out there that I’ve seen.
People often need to pay the rent while they’re building a blogging persona, or a Facebook page following, or writing their first ebook.
I love online business, and truly believe it’s “all that”… but it’s a business.
That means time, effort and money invested.
So the ideas you’ve shared here can go a long way to helping people stay afloat while building a more long-term business on the internet.
David, thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I agree, it is difficult to make money fast. The only reason why I am able to “make money quickly” through various writing channels is because I’ve already put in the work at establishing myself. Now, I am thankful that I did that because that option is open to me if I need it. That is exactly what I am doing – using these methods to help me “stay afloat” while I build my internet marketing business.
